Meet Lynsey (she/her)
MSW, RSW

Hi everyone, my name is Lynsey. I’m so happy you have landed here on the website for Bridge to Wellness, a counselling and consulting practice that I opened in the spring of 2020 after completing my Master of Social Work degree at Memorial University of Newfoundland.

I grew up in rural New Brunswick, on the banks of the beautiful Miramichi River in McNamee. After I completed my B.A. in 2007 then my B.S.W. in 2009 at St.Thomas University, I returned home to work as the social worker and community developer at the local community health centre and have continued to work in primary health care for fourteen years.

Dealing with the tough stuff is difficult and often seems impossible. You don't need to struggle on your own. I'll be here to walk alongside you while you take this journey.

If you are ready to prioritize your own wellness, reach out.

Meet Emily
MSW, RSW

My name is Emily Guidry. I received my Bachelor of Social Work degree from St. Thomas University in 2015 and provide counselling support within community Addictions and Mental Health. Additionally, I received my Master of Social Work degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland in 2023 and have begun providing counselling within Bridge to Wellness.

To date, I have the most experience working to support adolescents. However, I also have experience supporting younger children and adults. Professionally, I provide counselling support for numerous areas of concern. My main professional interests include anxiety, depression, addictions, stress, trauma, grief, life transitions, emotion dysregulation and/or personality disorders. At present, I mainly use Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy in my work with clients.

I take a very strengths-based, validating approach to counselling and aim to ensure the counselling experience meets the needs of my clients. In my down time, I enjoy spending time with family, friends, and caring for my two little dogs!

I look forward to having the opportunity to get to know and help support you!

Meet Marissa
BA, BSW, RSW

Hello everyone! My name is Marissa and I am a social worker/counsellor at Bridge to Wellness.

I grew up in the small community of Blackville, NB. In 2013 I left for Mount Allison University and found my new home for the next 5 years while completing my undergraduate degree. It was here that a last minute class swap landed me in an intro to social work class, moving me to apply for the St. Thomas University Bachelors of Social Work program and eventually attending.

I graduated with my B.S.W in early 2021 from STU and have worked in a variety of areas and services including community health, addictions & mental health, and behaviour intervention. I am eclectic in my approach to counselling, drawing on CBT, short-term supportive counselling and strengths based/ solution focused. At its core, my practice is centred around relationship building. I believe that all folks deserve and need an emotionally safe person to process and tackle life’s challenges. I hope and desire to be that person for my clients.

I look forward to having the opportunity to get to know and help support you.

Hi everyone! My name is Lacey and I am a registered social worker/counsellor at Bridge to Wellness. Since graduating from the Bachelor of Social Work program at St. Thomas University, I’ve worked in a variety of clinical settings within our healthcare system. With experience in Addictions and Mental Health, Community Heath, and both inpatient/outpatient hospital social work, I’ve been providing therapeutic services within our community for almost 9 years. I find myself inspired daily by my clients and their ability to overcome difficult and challenging situations in life!

Some of the therapeutic modalities that I use most include: cognitive behavioural therapy, dialectical behavioural therapy, narrative therapy, and solution focused therapy. I very much consider myself a generalist in my professional practice but some of my therapeutic interests include anxiety and depression management, life transitions, grief, emotional dysregulation, and postpartum support.

Originally from Sunny Corner, N.B. (A small rural community located outside of Miramichi) I consider myself to remain a small town girl at heart who enjoys the simpler things in life. In my free time, you can find me covered in dirt in one of my many gardens, or spending time with my husband and 2 children.

I believe that you are the expert on your own experiences and it is my goal as your counsellor to work collaboratively with you to support your individual needs. I strive to create a safe place for clients, and offer a strengths based/client-centered approach.

I look forward to having the opportunity to get to know, and help support you!

This is a photo of Cassandra, a social worker with the Bridge to Wellness Team.

Greetings, I'm Cassandra Tarfa, and my journey in the realm of social work began when I obtained my Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from St. Thomas University in 2016. I'm completing my Master of Social Work (MSW) at the University of Waterloo, where I am also dedicating my time to practicum hours with Bridge to Wellness Counselling.

Throughout my professional path, I've honed my skills and compassion by supporting adults within community non-profit and government organizations. My recent endeavours have immersed me in community addiction and mental health services. In this area, I have offered individual and group counselling through in-person, telephone, and video-based sessions. The blend of these experiences has shaped my understanding and commitment to aiding others on their unique paths to wellness.

I find immense pleasure in yoga practice and the adventures of hiking through nature and chasing waterfalls, often in the delightful company of cherished friends and family. I firmly believe that immersing oneself in these rejuvenating pursuits grants a sense of joy and ignites the inner fire that propels us forward. These activities fill me with the energy required to confront the more demanding parts of life, empowering me to conquer the challenges that lie ahead.

Hello! I’m Christina Wurm (she/her), a clinical social worker based in Fredericton, NB. I earned my BSW from Saint Thomas university in 2013 and later completed my MSW at the University of Waterloo. Over the past 11 years, I have worked with individuals in the community from across the lifespan in a variety of clinical roles. I am passionate about delivering client-centered care and supporting you in navigating life’s challenges.

I specialize in trauma informed therapy, aiming to create a nurturing and secure environment conducive to self-discovery, skill development, and the cultivation of healthier copping mechanisms. As an integrative therapist, I purposefully draw from various methodologies such as CBT and DBT, customizing my approach to suit individual needs. I hold the belief that clients are the experts of their own lives and hope to work collaboratively to help you meet your goals.

Whether you are struggling with stress, anxiety, depression, self esteem, relationship challenges, emotional regulation or simply seeking guidance through tough times, I hope to be a source of support for you in this journey.

As a proud member of the 2SLGBTQ+ community, I am deeply committed to providing a safe and affirming space for counselling with fellow queer individuals. Outside of my professional life, I love to get lost in a good book, relieving stress through boxing, and cuddling my adorable dog.

I look forward to working with you!
